Perfectly Imperfect is Just Beautiful
Welcome to you! We've had so many new viewers lately, I am so glad you are here. The reason I do this hospitality blog is simple: It's just beautiful to share time with friends and family. Preparing a lovely table gets their attention, but what touches them is the effort and the time with you at their table. The table is just the stage for the truly beautiful performance~sharing life.
What keeps us from doing more? Our perfectly imperfect homes, tables, cooking, life: but isn't that why others appreciate it so much? Every person I know need some love and attention. From our Board Members, to each of my past clients, irrelevant their social class or income level, to our closest family and friends to strangers new to our church or that we see at the grocery store: people need love, attention and to be included.
Our imperfection, that which we grow & become beautiful from, is that very thing that the enemy uses to keep us from reaching out. We have become beautiful not only from the beauty in our lives, but from the bitter, difficult situations that we have. Sometimes these are heart wrenching illness, disappointment, rejection of any sort: but these are what humble us, cause us to trust in God's plan and make us beautiful. So much comfort, grace and love happens at the table. Not because of the table settings but because you were there. You either invited or you just showed up.
It isn't just about our dining table, it's bigger. It's much bigger. It's what happens at the table, that is the point.
It's discussion, it's conversation, it's healing: God shows up. It's reconciliation, it's apology, it's tears, it's laughter: God is there. It's support, it's celebration, it's heart wrenching: God is there.
So, invite someone to dinner today. It's much bigger than a pretty table. That's just where it starts. He has made everything beautiful in it's time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Ecclesiastes 3:11
...So be inspired by pics below, whether a snapshot and a simple table or campsite, or the beautiful time intensive tables from the book....
be inspired to begin, as Ecclesiastes 3:11 states, we cannot fathom what God will do beginning......
to end.
